    Hi there

I'd like to translate a lot of details to german. Instead of using an external software like poedit i would prefer using a plugin like loco translate.

I copied all the language files into the child-theme. What do I need to do to translate the following:

    • weekdays in calendar (I've seen a post about that where it didn't work properly)
    • Some buttons in Projects (Sort by Date, Sort by Status)
    • Button in Members (Role Filter, Members Map)
    • Birthdays Widget («No birthdays found»)
    • The whole Wise Chat plugin. The plugin isn't translation ready.

    That's it for the start

    Hello,

That should work fine, just make sure the PO file you're using is updated, de_DE.po -> Catalog -> Edit from .POT file and that you're using Woffice 2.8.6.1. Because right now, that's what Loco Translate is using and very likely it wasn't updated in a while so you need to refresh it in order to get the latest translations. Then, Loco Translate will find these strings.

Let me know if you need more details here.

    Kind Regards,

    François

    Salut François

I'm using Loco Translate now. It found over 680 strings not translated yet. (40%). (Version 2.8.6.1 / Refreshed on 20.09.2019)

It didn't find any strings in wisechat.

Do I get a discount if I translate all of them to german or some to french ;-) Please don't close the topic yet. I might encounter some further struggles trying to translate.

    Salut François

I contacted the plugins author (Wisechat). No answer so far. Right now I'm trying to translate the «edit you profile» part. I found a bug there. The fields to enter the birthday are displayed twice. (see file attached)

The two buttons BASE and SOCIAL can't be translated. The same goes for PHONE and OFFICE NUMBER.

The following string is translated but appears in english: «This address will be used on the members directory map, please make sur the address is valid for Google Map» )(See Attached, maybe it's not a variable but hardcoded)

This string doesn't seem to be backed by the .po file. I can't translate it: «Copy past your URL in this field please, if it is empty it will not be displayed.»

    Hello,

The fields are not something you can translate there because they're stored in the database. If you want to change them, any of them -> User > Profile Fields in the WordPress dashboard.

For the ones linked to Unyson extension (address for the map and birthday for the Birthday extension), you need to change them in the Unyson extension's settings. Because otherwise, Woffice has no clue where the data is being hold.

    Have a nice day

    Kind Regards,

    François

    Hello,

Is it a problem if I deactivate one of these Birthday / Geburtstag fields? Which one should I?

You can set any in the extension's settings. Then deactivate the other one, it won't be re-created. But the name needs to match the one set in the Birthday extension's settings.

Let me know if you need more details here.

    Hi there,

I got that with the Birthday field. In Woffice Birthdays the name of the field must match with the fields name of the profile. Thank you

Meanwhile I have a different problem. (See file attached) These two buttons have no text nor icons. (Accept and Reject would be nice) This is the page to reject and accept membership requests. Where can I change those?

But prefer English ^^. .po is fine. Yup all good for the 1-year support, we will add it in the next version. Just did you update the .po file before? From the POT file?

    Have a nice day

    Kind Regards,

    François

    Good morning

Yes, I updated the .po file first. Loco Translate automatically synchronizes .po and .pot files.

    You too

    Good morning!

And now I also found the strings in Loco Translate. (Under section plugins) I had to press Sync to make sure I have the updated strings.

Looks like as if I have to start translating there too.

I could translate on their website:
    https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/buddypress/stable/de/default/

If I were you I would start recommending Loco translate, since it doesn't need the user to install a software.
