Woffice Poll don't work

    Hi!

When answering questions in the Woffice Poll, nothing happens and does not show any errors (see before.png and after.png).

Nothing appears in the Poll results either (see result.png).

After reading previous appeals about the Woffice Poll in technical support, did all the recommendations:

    1. activated / deactivated plugin  Woffice Poll

    2. delete / create new Poll and Questions

and all this in a different order, but nothing yielded results, the Poll still does not work.

Additionally tested disabling all custom PHP-code and all plugins, except Woffice Core, Unyson and BuddyPress, this also did not fix the problem.

In previous appeals about the Woffice Poll in technical support you are asking to provide administrator access to the site to solve this problem, but it's not very professional.

Please show me what actions I must do on my own in order for the Woffice Poll to work.

    Thanks!

    Hi Alex,

We indeed need admin access to give you more details, because it's simply working on our side and for our other customers. So, in order to give you a solution, we need to see the issue.

You're free to create a specific account that you'd delete in a week or so. We need admin access on almost ALL tickets here, and never ever had any security issue, so far.

Another solution is for you to use a plugin for this: https://www.wpbeginner.com/showcase/best-wordpress-poll-plugins-compared/

That might be a better bet, as usually they're more complete that this Woffice extension.

    Hi!

    Once again performed the following:

    1. Deactivate ALL plugins and ALL custom PHP-code,

    2. Deactivate / activate the Woffice Poll plugin,

    3. Remove old and create a new Poll,

Only the following components remain active:

    1. Wordpress 5.2.1

    2. Woffice Theme 2.8.3.3 (Child)

    3. Woffice Core Plugin 2.8.3.3

    4. Unyson Plugin 2.7.22

    5. BuddyPress Plugin 4.3.0

I do not understand what else can watch there? If your Poll works with this configuration, then why doesn't it work for me?

If you know the secret place to look and fix something, then let me know about it, I can do it with the same success.

    Thanks!

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for the troubleshooting. Much appreciated.

I found the issue, I think, can you try to replace this file:

    plugins/woffice-core/extensions/woffice-poll/hooks.php

With the one attached heresmile.pngThat should do the job, keep me posted

    Hi, François!

Yes, now the Poll is working, thank you very much for the help!

But I found a typo in your file ( "_answeRR" ),

    instead:

    add_action('wp_ajax_woffice_poll_add_answerr', 'woffice_poll_add_answer');

    must be:

    add_action('wp_ajax_woffice_poll_add_answer', 'woffice_poll_add_answer');

The Poll began to work only after correcting this error.

    Thanks!

    Hi, François!

The Poll has worked, but only under the condition that the answers are indicated in Latin letters. If the answers are in Cyrillic, then the survey is still not working.

It would be great if we manage to eliminate this shortcoming!

    Thanks!

    Hi Alex,

Good catch, THANKS and sorry for that mistake!.. My bad.

    Not sure I understand:

If the answers are in Cyrillic, then the survey is still not working.

Do you have a screenshot or something that could help me reproduce it?

Could be that we apply escaping functions, it's required by WordPress. But we can see to remove that though.

    Kind Regards,

    François

I had the same issue, the new php file fixed it, with the suggested edit from Alex.  I'll only use english, so this should have me fixed.

    Hi Alex,

That'll be in the next update, it's indeed a "sanitization" function creating the issue.

Sorry about that issue guys, we're working a 2.8.4 update that'll be released next Friday, that'll contain that fix along with a bunch of new features so we'll leave that ticket open until then.

    Have a nice day

    Kind Regards,

    François

    Hi,

After updating the theme to version 2.8.4 the Woffice Poll completely broke (see screenshot 1).

Of course, I deleted, created new, deactivated, activated the Poll, disabled all custom PHP-code and checked it only in English. Nothing helped.

In the version of theme 2.8.3, the Woffice Poll worked at least in English, now it does not work at all.

    What could be the problem?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

It is unfortunate that I have to repeat simple things:

    I performed the following:

    1. Deactivate ALL plugins and ALL custom PHP- and JS-code,

    2. Deactivate / activate the Woffice Poll plugin,

    3. Remove old and create a new Poll.

Only the following components remain active:

    1. Wordpress 5.2.2

    2. Woffice Theme 2.8.4 (Child)

    3. Woffice Core Plugin 2.8.4

    Hi,

Re-read my previous message and reply to the essence.  So far I see only meaningless answers from your side.

There is nothing to watch on my site, except for the listed components. You can repeat this configuration on your hosting and study it thoroughly.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

After a month and a half of correspondence with support (from June 10) and two updates (2.8.4. And 2.8.5), the Woffice Poll still does not work (see screensot).

Re-read once again my previous messages for check.

Is it possible to find out the exact date of correction of the error and in what year it will happen (2020, 2021) ??

    Hello Alex,

Will look into it for the next update. There is something else going on as it's working on our side + most customers.

If you need it now, please use a plugin: https://www.wpbeginner.com/showcase/best-wordpress-poll-plugins-compared/

That'll fix your issue right away. If you're not happy with the theme or support, feel free to get a refund here: https://themeforest.net/refund_requests/new

We're working a lot on this theme and support, we try to provide as much features as possible and yes it's tough to maintain throughout the years. That's a risk we're taking. How many themes come with a poll extension? Again, feel free to use some plugins or other theme if you're not happy with Woffice. We can give you a full refund. In the meantime, we do our best to provide the best support and theme updates. We didn't get everything right and are improving.

    Have a nice day.

    Kind Regards,

    François
