    Hi everybody,

Reaching for your help today because I noticed a widget outputs different data depending on where its located.

On the dashboard, The Assigned tasks widget shows the appropriate number of assigned tasks for my user.

On the other hand when I go into a specific page where I want that widget to appear, it doesn't show any assigned tasks ? Maybe I don't understand those widgets but I thought they were supposed to output the same thing.

    Thanks !

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching out,

The widget in dashboard shows total number of tasks assigned for the user,

whereas when you click on specific project , it shows tasks assigned for that specific project only.

Let me know if you need further clarification.

    Kind Regards,

    Abhishek

    Hi!

    Thanks for replying quickly !

    Let me rephrase :

"The widget in the dashboard shows total number of tasks assigned to the user" = Correct. That's what I figured too, thanks for confirming.

"whereas when you click on specific project , it shows tasks assigned for that specific project only." = This part I don't understand what you mean. The widget I added with the page builder isn't in a project, it's in a separate page I made for my users. And the name of the widget in the WPBakery page builder is "Assigned tasks" so I thought it was also meant that it shows "all tasks assigned to the user".

When I go into specific projects I can see the tasks, no issue to report there.

See the screenshot I just added for reference. One is the dashboard widget which I have no issue with. The other shows you what I mean exactly. Hope it clarifies my question.  From my perspective it feels like a bug with the widget. Because The page builder mentions "Assigned tasks for the current logged in user" but it doesn't show anything, and I know I have currently two tasks.

    Can you please advise ?

    Thanks !

    Hello,

Thanks for the bug report, we'll make sure it's being addressed for our 2.8.4 release. If you want to get the exact why and we'd be able to send you a direct fix, please make the change mentioned in the attached image. You'd see a black box on this page with some useful info for us that we can use to fix it.

    Hi there,

Thanks, will look into that for the next update.

And if you use the same widget/block in the Dashboard, you do see some tasks for the same member right?

    Hi François,

Sorry for the double post but felt it was relevant. The widget I do see tasks on the dashboard is actually not the same widget, But it is still supposed to output the same data.

See the difference with both widgets on the dashboard. One shows the tasks the other doesn't.

    Thanks !

    Hi there,

Mmmh weird. Let me do more testing on this. Can you send me a screenshot of both widgets on the WordPress widgets page please? Like to see which widget and what configuration is set.

Hi, no problem. Here is the screenshot.

On the screenshot number 1 stands for the widget that DOES NOT work.

Number 2 stands for the one that do work. So the first one is the one you can put into any pages. And it doesn't work as explained in the previous message. But no problem with the second one called "(Woffice) User Tasks".

    Cheers!

Thanks for the details, is there a way you could send me some FTP access in a private comment so I can have a look on your site. Would also need access to that account so I can fix the issue directly on your site.

    Keep me posted

    Kind Regards,

    François

    Hi François,

Are you able to do remote support ? Because the website is stored locally and will never be online. I'd be glad to grant you temporary access but it has to go through my computer screen since it's a company Intranet with highly sensitive data.

    Thanks !

    Hi there,

Okay, got it. We have a Woffice 2.8.4 release next Friday. I'll make sure to reproduce it and get it re-tested and fixed by that release. I'll get back to you if our dev has any question, but I think we have enough information to fix it on our sidesmile.png

    Have a nice day

    Kind Regards,

    François
