Remove Profile Photo from header and Buddypress menu

    I would like to remove the profile photo from the header and menu of my site as my membership site plugin doesn't play nicely with it. I have attached two screenshots circling the areas I need removed.

    I tried a few things I found for custom css but nothing seems to be working. I've tried:

    1) theme settings --> custom css:

    #buddypress #change-avatar-personal-li {
    display: none;
    }

    2) functions.php

    function bp_remove_nav_item() {
     global $bp;
     bp_core_remove_subnav_item( $bp->profile->slug, 'change-avatar' );
    }
    add_action( 'wp', 'bp_remove_nav_item' );

    3) Disabling users from being allowed to upload avatars in the Settings --> Buddypress menu

    I really appreciate any help!

    Thanks

    Veronica

    Hello Veronica,

    Thanks for writing in! You can use the following code to your WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Theme Settings > Custom Code > Custom CSS:

    #nav-user #user-thumb img {
      display: none;
    }

    Hope this helps!

    Best Regards,
    Imran.

    Thank you Imran! This worked for the nav menu, but when they click to open the Buddypress menu, the image still shows there.

    Is there a way to remove that as well? (screenshot attached)

    Thank you SO MUCH!

    Veronica

    The other option would be rather than removing it all together, just changing the destination link that the user goes to when they click on that profile image in the menu. My biggest issue is that I am not using the built in profile page, but one that I built specifically for my membership. I don't want them to click on this avatar and go to the Woffice profile page.

    Is there a way to change what that image is linked to? Either option works. I just want the easier one lol

    Hello,

    Thanks for your patience heresmile.png

    You can use this CSS to remove that image and the link that wraps it:

    #user-cover a img{
        display:none!important;
    }

    Have a nice daysmile.png

    Kind Regards,

    François
