Problems adding users with Office365 addresses

I'm looking for some help from anyone who might have run into a problem adding users with Office365 email addresses. The specific problem is that the users aren't receiving confirmation emails. I've successfully added users with .gmail and .live addresses though. This might be a deal breaker for the client or we might need to change themes. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello,

Have you checked the junk mails?

Because Woffice does not deal with confirmation emails. They are sent by BuddyPress. If you are not using a SMTP account, they'll likely be junked by some mail address providers.

You can try by reverting to the default theme and see if that makes a difference or not.

    Kind Regards,

    Fran├žois

Hi. Yes. Someone in the office spent a couple of hours on the phone with Microsoft yesterday and they confirmed that the emails aren't hitting the server at all. They're definitely not going to spam.

Okay so I switched to the Twenty Seventeen theme and turned off *all* the plugins. I still can't add users with Office 365 addresses but I can add @live and @gmail. So it can't be the theme or any of the plugins that come with it. My next step is to check with the host. Thanks for your help!

MS support suggested the following. Does this ring any bells?

Pertaining to our discussion, here is what I have gathered & noted . Please let me know if there are any additional details you would like to add.

    • You need to send emails from your WordPress site.

Here is an article where you use a plugin to send emails through WordPress.  You can use this as an example.

I hunch that there is somehow a problem on the server.

There solution doesn't ring a bell, but still, you can give it a shot.

I also found this link, which looks somewhat similar: https://www.wpgarage.com/plugins/wordpress-notifications-working-office-365-magic-fix/
